Dissent is a part of democracy and it strengthens discussion and discourse. However, while dissent is a necessity, it should not interfere in the administration of justice. The problem of criticism on Social Media has been raised several times. Recently, CJI Justice Bobde had come out saying that such personalised criticisms of Judges and not their Judgements is defamatory and it perturbs the Judge.
With many questions being raised about the interference of Social Media in Justice Delivery System, it is extremely important to have such a discourse on this topic.
We at CAN Foundation are extremely thrilled to host them on 29th May 2020, Friday at 07:30 PM, IST.
