MNIT Jaipur Alumni Shivangi Becomes India’s 1st Women Navy Pilot

Sub-lieutenant Shivangi became the first woman pilot for the Indian Navy on Monday. Shivangi was commissioned into the Indian Navy last year after her initial training. Shivangi joined operational duties at the Kochi naval base today. We feel happy informing that someone from the NIT community hasgone on to become India’s first woman navy pilot.

It’s a matter of proud for all NITians and even one thing to be also considered that Engineers can achieve success in each and every field. What more to say when the girl herself is a Mechanical Engineer.

Shivangi was born in Muzaffarpur district of Bihar. Before joining the Indian Navy.. She completed her Mechanical Engineering from Sikkim Manipal University. She then joined MNIT JAIPUR for her further studies. She pursued her MTech course ar MNIT JAIPUR

She in an interview with ANI agency said : “ I have been craving for this since a very long time & finally it is here, so it’s a great feeling. I am looking forward to completing my 3rd stage of training.” Shivangi in a talk with another news agency said: “You don’t need to be super talented to fly an aircraft, But you need to be work really hard and stay focused.”
